ARDSI Hyderabad Deccan at the ARDSICON 2015



Like every year, the Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Society of India Conference was held in the month of December from the 2nd to the 4th of the month at Mumbai. The conference brought a multitude of talks by national and international experts in the area of dementia.

ARDSI Hyderabad Deccan and Memory Clinic staff members were able to participate in this conference by presenting papers on relevant topics. Ms Amulya Rajan presented her ideas on 'Protective factors for dementia in the Indian context'. This session threw light on the 'lifecourse perspective in dementia' and the different research projects being done at the Memory Clinic and ARDSI- Hyderabad. Further she elaborated on the role of bilingualism in protecting from dementia as has been found and published by the Memory Clinic.

Other ARDSI- Hyderabad Deccan members like project manager- Koti Babu also attended and participated in all the conference proceedings.

The conference was very successful in bringing together under a single roof diverse world views about dementia including current research in the area, current trends, experiences of caregivers and care providers, and directions for future development.
