Guest lecture in Amherst, Massachusetts, USA



On 13 February 2011, Dr. Vani Rupela gave a guest lecture to around 100 undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She spoke to the students about memory, how it can be affected in various types of dementia with special emphasis on Alzheimer's Disease and Fronto-temporal dementia. She also gave real-life examples and spoke about how the brain is affected in the different types of dementia. She conveyed information about the growing epidemic of this disease and the importance of its early identification and treatment. She ended by showing a video of a patient with dementia and also spoke about activities of ARDSI, especially those of ARDSI, Hyderabad-Deccan.
