Outing for Dementia persons and care-givers
ARDSI (Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India) Hyderabad Deccan chapter , in collaboration with Walker’s Association, organized an Outing at JVR Park on 8th May, 2010, Saturday at 5p.m.
The community event was attended by persons with dementia, their care-givers, Ardsi volunteers, and members of the Walker’s association. Mr Menon, Secretary of Walker’s association coordinated the Tambola game which had active participation from all the patients. Later prizes were distributed to the winners. Snacks were provided and the event concluded on a high event with the entire group participating in group songs. The positive impact on families was evident with the high energy levels of all participants.
Mr Ramana Reddy, President of Walker’s association and Mr Menon, Vice-President, appreciated the way in which ARDSI Hyderabad Deccan motivated the patients and care-givers and said they would always support ARDSI Hyderabad Deccan for any future events of this kind.
Dr Vani, ARDSI Hyd Deccan Volunteer gave a concluding vote of thanks to the members of Walker’s association and said that it was a watershed moment for the organization.
