December Caregivers Meeting
The monthly caregiver’s meeting was held on Saturday, 12th December, between 2 – 3 p.m, at Memory clinic, Ground floor, Millenium Block, NIMS.
The topic was “Person first, Dementia Second”. The audience of about 30 comprised family members and ARDSI volunteers.
The meeting started with two role plays by ARDSI volunteers, one role play depicting the non-effective care-giving part and one role play depicting the effective care-giving part with Dementia persons. This was followed by sharing of care-givers experiences, where five care-givers came out with their experiences of handling with the Dementia persons.
The meeting concluded with family members/care-givers writing their concerns regarding the issues they have with the patients and the ARDSI volunteers said that they would get back to them with the possible innovations
